There is the need to strictly observe free and fair elections and further deepen the peace the state is enjoying ahead of the December 7 elections.

Speaking to Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, Dr Amoako Tuffuor brushed off the argument by populace that the results may influence the December polls and as well show the voting pattern of the security forces and others.

“If Nana Addo realized the police did not vote for him, he has no right whatsoever not to provide for their needs including others if he wins. Similarly, President Mahama cannot do such either.

Dr. Kwame Amoako Tuffour, Mr. Benjamin Arthur and Mr. Adreba Abrafa Damoa have sued the Electoral Commission in connection with Section 23 of C. I. 94; the law which regulates the conduct of the 2016 general election.

It is in this regard that the gentlemen are prying on the court to task the EC in announcing the results of the special voting – they argued that C.I. 94 is inconsistent with Article 49 of the 1992 Constitution.

He concluded that going into this election, all uncertainties ought to be dealt with and putting the votes cast under seal is not the ultimate guarantee to safeguard the special voting results.
