“This visit was planned long ago. It is therefore erroneous for anyone to think or say the President is here because of what has happened in the past”, NPP Ashanti Regional Secretary, Sam Pyne who is with the President’s entourage in the region exclusively revealed to mynewsgh.com.

The President is currently in the Ashanti region for a three- day working visit but persons outside government are trying to link the recent raid at the Regional Coordinating Council to the visit.

Recently, members of the party’s security wing, Delta Force assaulted the regional security coordinator, Mr. George Agyei demanding his removal from office and the latest being the boycott of the party’s communicators and serial callers of various media platforms.

But the NPP regional secretary explains that these matters stand alone from the President’s reason but however, stated the President will take steps to find solutions to some of the worrying matters.

The President is expected to pay a courtesy call to the Asantehene Otiumfour Osei Tutu II at Manhyia Palace where they will have a closed door meeting with the King

According to Mr. Sam Pyne, the President is in the region to show appreciation to the people for voting massively for him in the just ended polls.

He added that except a rally that will be organized by the party one Sunday, all the activities are under the hands of the state protocol department.
