New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin Central in the Central Region, has accused some police officers in the country of conniving with land guards to terrorize Ghanaians.
Speaking on Adom TV’s Morning Show ‘Badwam’ Tuesday, Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong said a senior police officer whom he refused to name is backing some of these land guards in the country and are openly ransacking offices illegally.
According to him, he will make sure that senior police officer is removed from office because his dubious act is making the service unpopular.
“Some police officers in the country have connived with land guards. They are actually in bed with these land guards. I have pointed my satellite on one police officer who is working for them and killing people.
“One CID personnel I saw broke into Champion Herbal Company with some DSTV guys accusing the company of piracy and then you see these police officers walking with these people without any court order ransacking their offices.
“I will go straight to the headquarters today to meet that police officer and I will make sure the IGP sacks him from office because he is too corrupt, taking money from these land guards and working for them” he stated.
Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong maintained that the support of the criminal activities of some land guards by these top officers is fast creating tension among the rank and file of the police service.
He, therefore, called on the IGP, to immediately intervene and bring sanity to police service.
‘If you are a police officer, just do your job so that we move Ghana forward. There are so many leakages in Ghana and so it is important that we seal these leakages because we need to make move Ghana forward” he stressed.
