Kate Addo insisted that there is nothing wrong with the cameras in Parliament and wondered why someone will peddle such falsehood.

The Eastern Regional Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mark-Oliver Kevor has alleged that the cameras in Parliament are not working. He said the committee that investigated parliamentary bribery allegation could not make the video evidence public because they know the CCTV cameras are faulty and can’t capture anything meaningful. The committee had explained that the content of the video evidence may compromise the security of the august house, which Mark-Oliver Kevor contested on Onua FM’s Morning Show ‘Yen Nsem Pa’.

But Kate Addo told host of the programme, Bright Kwesi Asempa that she has been reliably informed by the technicians in charge of the cameras that there is nothing wrong with the cameras.

She insisted “there is absolutely no truth in what the gentleman is saying”.

The Acting Director of Public Affairs noted that the teams in charge of the cameras constantly check on the cameras and there is no way they could be faulty without being rectified.

In a related development, two Members of Parliament who were guest on the Onua Fm morning show, MP for Sefwi Akontombra Alex Tetteh and Eric Afful, MP for Amenfi West have corroborated the Acting Public Affairs’ story, maintaining that as far as they are concerned, all the cameras in Parliament are working.
