Osei-Mensah Can’t Exonerate Himself From Delta Force Assault

The Former Deputy Coordinator of the National Management Disaster Organisation (NADMO) Joseph Yamin has accused the Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei-Mensah of being part of the gurus behind the assault on the newly appointed Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator George Agyei by Delta Force.

He said the Regional Minister cannot exonerate himself from the brutality asking why he and members of the Regional Security Coordinating Council (RCC) refused to give police and military protection to Mr Agyei when they were hinted of the assault.

Mr Yamin said the Regional Minister will be throwing dust in the eyes of the public if he denies knowledge of the nefarious activities by Delta Force.

He questioned why the Regional Minister has kept mute about the incident describing him as ‘too soft’ to deal with issues bedeviling the region.

‘Why did the members of RCC including the regional minister sit aloof for the ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) vigilante group Delta Force to mobilise themselves to assault the Regional Security Coordinator. The regional minister cannot exonerate himself from this crime, he should come out to apologise to Asanteman and Mr Agyei. His conduct shows that he cannot handle issues in the region. This is incompetence in the highest level and he is a failure to the region, he could have prevented this brutality but he didn’t,’ he pointed out.

Speaking on Abusua FM’s Abusua Nkommo hosted by Kwame Adinkra, he further accused other NPP bigwigs in the region of instigating the group.

He said the vigilante groups of NPP have been embarking on nefarious activities due to promises made by the party hierarchy during the electioneering to appoint their leaders when voted in power.

‘I would say Delta Force’s actions are justifiable, they have every right to do what they did. Because they toiled for the party during the electioneering, they have some feelings that none of their leaders will be appointed if they don’t strike. They don’t want to be swerved like Henry Kwabena Kokofu, Kofi Jumah, Sam Pyne and the rest after being tipped for various positions. How can you tell them that they don’t have CVs after promising them of jobs?,’ he asked.
