David Mumuni, CEO of Flippy Campus explained the Flippy Marketplace, which is part of the Android and web-based Flippy Campus App, is to create an ultimate campus experience for users.

It will give both students, businesses and service providers looking to sell directly to students the platform to do so.

“It is an idea we have been cooking up for almost a year now and we are happy to roll it out to allow students and student-focused brands and services to reach the thousands of students actively engaged on Flippy Campus,” he said.

Mr Mumuni said they hope to have a dedicated section within the marketplace for specific brands to relate directly with the students.

Flippy Campus recently formed a number of strategic partnerships to improve the marketplace experience for its student users.

They included InterPay (the payment solution), Campus Base TV (the number one campus TV targeted towards students), Samsung and Tisu (the ecommerce platform dedicated towards giving great deals on products.)

“Buying and selling on campus is a part of student culture and we have noticed a lot of this activity in the feeds of our users. So we decided to give them a dedicated section on the app to sell to their flip buddies and make some extra income while using Flippy Campus.” – Ammishaddai Ofori, Head of Content & PR said.

Flippy Campus, boasts of a user base of over 100,000 students and recently launched on five (5) new campuses including Central University, Methodist University, University of Professional Studies Accra, Takoradi Technical University and the Kumasi Technical University.

The company is looking forward to expanding to all tertiary institutions in the country by 2017, and move on to Nigeria.

The App can be downloaded from the Google Playstore
