They explained that failure by the new government to bring the perpetrators to book would affect the electoral fortunes of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the area in the next elections.

The Abuakwa North constituency was in sombre mood on Thursday morning as sympathizers gathered to mark the one year anniversary of the passing of the MP.

Family members, most of whom wore black, could hardly hold back their tears as they began interactions with mourners.

Kwasi Frempong, an uncle of the late MP, wants the new government led by President AKufo-Addo, a son of the land, to fasttrack court proceedings and deal with perpetrators of the crime.

“It is over a year now when our son died.

“The case is still in court and moving at a slow pace. We feel disheartened by the dead and delay for justice.”

He added: “If the NPP which our son belongs to fail to seek justice for us, their electoral fortunes may be affected.”

Party member Rose Abga, was still in late JB Danquah Adu’s shirt.

She recalled how the deceased supported children in schooling and women in the Constituency.

“Several children can no longer continue their schooling. We want justice for our late MP,” she demanded while sobbing.

A brief church service was held by the extended family and it was attended by NPP’s constituency executives who later made some donations towards the one year commemoration.

The murder case is still in court.
