The Member of Parliament for the Odododiodoo constituency, Nii Lante Vanderpuye has been accused of physical assault by his NPP contender, Nii Lante Bannerman,
Bannerman alleges that Vanderpuye accosted and attacked him at his residence in James Town on Wednesday morning.
This accusation comes on the back of reports of clashes that occurred between supporters of the two on Tuesday evening.
The clashes are said to have happened at the end of two separate campaign rallies held by the two men.
According to Bannerman, Nii Lante Vanderpuye attacked him in the presence of the residents in James Town.
The MP attacked me this morning, physically… in the full glare of everybody this morning at James town. He came out of his car, I was sitting in my car, then he just punched me. I was in the car, I was defenceless. He came out of his car, I was sitting in my car, then he just punched me. I was in the car, I was defenceless… he crossed us with is car and got down, he punched me twice.”
