He is convinced the general acceptance of his party’s campaign message and current economic hardships Ghanaians are enduring are enough to earn him a one-touch victory.

Mr Akwasi Addai who has been speaking to Nhyira FM on his party’s chances in the upcoming elections says he is cruising to a landslide victory.

“I am very much optimistic that I am going to win this election with a landslide victory and I could see and feel that my chances are very bright looking at the current biting which Ghanaians are experiencing now,” he predicted.

The UPP, the first political party to launch its manifesto, is promising to overhaul of the country’s public sector with a promise to pay public sector workers on a weekly basis.

Agriculture will be the backbone of a UPP government, with cocoa production set to hit 10 million metric tons.

According to Mr Addai, his party will promote industrialization across the nation to ensure products such as gold are exported in their secondary form.

“Ghanaians are buying into my vision and my message is going down well with the people especially the business fraternity. And crisscrossing the whole country, I feel how the people want change and change is coming. Change is inevitable and there is no way this government can renew its mandate,” he said.

“I see myself leading this country because Ghanaians are now having confidence in me. Ghanaians want a leadership that can fix the economy and I stand tall among all my peers seeking for this office,” he said.

UPP is targeting 50 parliamentary seats across the country.

According to Mr Addai, he does not need a majority in parliament to run the affairs of a country he says has been mismanaged by President Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
