From 10.00 pm to 4.00 am residents in Spintex Road, Sakumono, Addogon, Buade, Opkoi Gonno, Baatsonaa, Kotobaabi, Lashibi, Klagon, Oyibi and adjoining towns are expected to abide by this directives.

Asafoatse Borlabi Kpla who is the spokesperson for the family of the late Wulomor said the curfew is only on Thursday and no one would be attacked or hurt as part of the rituals.

But he said all lights in the affected areas and its environs would be put off as this forms part of the rituals.

“The reason behind these curfews is because the gods would be outside on the street to accompany the late Wulomor. During this time, any individual found on the street could be possessed by these gods and we do not want that to happen,” he said.

The Asafoatse also cautioned against taking pictures of the deceased when he is laid in state and splashed it on social media

Though JOYNEWS has learned the Nungua Chief is opposed to the curfew, the family of the priest and overlord maintain they will go ahead with the funeral plans anyway.

It would be remembered that on Thursday, Jan 19 from 8 pm to Friday, January 20, 2017, 4 am residents in the Ashanti regional capital of Kumasi were also directed to stay indoors to enable the traditional authorities to perform the necessary rites to the late queen mother Nana Afia Serwaah Kobi Ampem II a befitting burial on her journey to the ‘village’.
