NSIA Insurance has organised a health walk for its staff members in Accra. Management of NSIA initiated the staff health walk to bring to the fore the importance of exercising and healthy living.
The five-kilometer walk began at the car park of NSIA head office located at Tesano near De-Georgia Motor, Accra, proceeded to the Achimota Highway, all the way to the George Walker Bush Highway, (Dzorwulu Junction overpass) down to Achimota Forest and ended at the Achimota Bus Terminal.
As part of the health walk, NSIA staff members raised awareness on the importance of insurance and the need for drivers to patronise products of NSIA.
The over 50 NSIA staff members from the Greater Accra Region were later joined by some of the bank’s customers as well as trotro drivers for the aerobics.
General Manager Finance, NSIA Insurance and Banking, Aaron Packeys, who was among the first to complete the walk, said the physical well-being of staff members was a top priority of the company, adding the health walk was one way that the company used to raise awareness on the importance of exercising.
He said NSIA will continue to place the health of its employees at the very top of their priorities
“It was also part of building our equity brand in the insurance industry. And that is why we decided to bring insurance to the doorsteps of drivers and also engage them to exercise and further use the opportunity to explain to them the importance of insurance,” he said.
“Mostly when we talk about insurance people think that we take their monies. This is because most insurers do not honour their claims, but at NSIA one of our cardinal values is to help these drivers in terms protecting their assets and properties. So what we are trying to do is to help them plan towards insurance, satisfy the legal aspect of it and at the same time protect their properties,” he indicated.
Ms. Edith Nadou Lawson-Hellu who is in-charge of Communications and Publicity at NSIA, in an interview told Today pointed out that as a key player in Ghana’s insurance industry, NSIA was playing its role to help boost insurance penetration in Ghana.
