This follows a forceful takeover of the operation of the private business by a mob of suspected thugs of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) known as Kandahar Boys in Tamale.

The Company which distributes tricycles to poor households came under attack from the thugs, numbering dozens.

They assaulted anyone in sight to scare away workers and managers of the company. The mob has since been on the run a week after the attacks.

The Convener of the Coalition, Basharu Alhassan Daballi described the actions of the thugs as unfortunate and must be investigated and the perpetrators sanctioned.

“There are laws governing us in this country. We are not in a jungle. President Nana Addo did not come to power through a Coup d’état. So for that matter what the youth groups in Tamale, Kandahar are doing is unacceptable and they must be brought to book,” he said.

He said if the flagrant disregards to law and order by the Kandahar boys persist “we from the SADA zone risks losing investors” urging the police to institute full-scale investigations into the attacks and then bring the culprits to book to serve as deterrent.

Also a Development Consultant, Salifu Yussif Kantong said the unrestrained attacks on private businesses by the party hoodlums are a disincentive to the success of the SADA project.
