Scheduled Manifesto launch of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the Tamale Sports Stadium on October 8, 2016, hangs in the balance as there are indications a football game is billed for the same period.

According to snippets of information gathered by ultimatefmonline.com, the Black Stars of Ghana are scheduled to host Uganda at the same venue in a 2018 World Cup qualifying game on Friday, October 7.

This according to Oboshie Sai Coffie, a member of the party’s campaign team, could trigger a date change in the launch for the 2016 manifesto,

“We [NPP] are launching it [manifesto] in October. Originally, the date was the 8th. I understand there is a little bit of discussion of the Black Stars playing a match on the same day which was arranged after our day so right now we are going to determine which date it is going to be,”

She, however, maintained there is a tentative date which will have to be announced officially by the party. She said “it has to be agreed by the steering Committee and then we will announce it.

Acting National Chairman Mr Freddie Blay on Tuesday urged the electorate not to be worried over the delays in the launch of the manifesto.

He said that the yet to be launched manifesto believed to be in works, has been ready all this while, is not a voluminous document to read and therefore want supporters of the party to stay calm awaiting its official launch.

“Our manifesto has been ready for a very long time. It is not a voluminous document and we will launch it very soon. We will need your support to make it easily digestible to the electorate”, he revealed on the Ultimate Breakfast Show hosted by Lantam Papanko

According to him, the leadership of the party is not worried over the delays in launching the manifesto stating that they are not in contention with any other political party to do so.
