The Deputy Majority Chief Whip of Parliament in an interview with host of Eboboba, Kwabena Agyapong on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm stated that, the press conference held by the elephant family was an endorsement of the policies of the NDC.

The presidential candidate of the NPP he posited was dazed by the highlights given by President Mahama and is currently finding it difficult to put himself together.

Mr. Ibrahim said if the NPP was indeed an alternative opposition or government and ready to govern , they should have outlined their alternatives to the highlights given by President Mahama instead of alleging that, the NDC has plagiarized their policies.

”Because the members of the NPP are dazed, they’ve rather endorsed President Mahama’s manifesto unconscionably…Their posture and utterances is an endorsement of President Mahama’s manifesto in advance. If you claim that someone has plagiarized your work then it means that the thing is the best. There is no better manifesto than that of the NDC. The NPP do have a better policy and so they are making claims that the NDC has stolen its manifesto. The conclusion of what they’ve done is that, the NDC’s manifesto is the best manifesto so far.”

He questioned why a party claiming that it will not launch its manifesto because NDC will steal it turn round and accuse the party of stealing from a yet to be launched manifesto.

He described the position of the NPP as a ”straw man fallacy” meaning ”create your own argument and attack it.”

The legislator maintained that, the NPP did not think through before holding the press conference to attack the NDC over the alleged claims.

”They [NPP] are claiming ownership. And claiming means that they are endorsing it as the best manifesto which will help transform this country and that is what they did. Nana Akomea didn’t think through. They [NPP] didn’t think through. If they had thought through before holding the press conference, they would have rescind the decision to hold the conference because you have not launched their manifesto and so how do you make claims of plagiarism.”

The NPP he said has since 2008 till date accused the NDC of stealing from them. This he indicated is meant to deceive Ghanaians that they are the original owners of the ideas.
