The former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, (NPP) Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has revealed that the party made use of technical expertise to stop ‘NDC ghost voters’ from taking part in the 2016 election that gave president Akuffo-Addo a resounding victory.

According to him, the NDC banked their hopes on the bloated electoral register in winning the elections despite all cautions from the NPP to the Electoral Commission to clean the register.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekoosii Sen, Sir John stated that the NPP employed high technology to block all ghost voters though he refused to reveal the source of the technology.

“We were told at the Supreme Court that elections are won at the polling stations. So we kept our eyes wide opened so the NDC ‘ghosts’ from Togo and I’oire Coast couldn’t come voting this time round”. Sir John told the host.

He also added that his party blocked all loopholes preventing the NDC from ‘stealing’ votes for President Mahama. Those who were on a standby using pens in adding bloated figures to President Mahama’s votes couldn’t do it, and those who were armed to the teeth ready to turn figures with computer technologies also couldn’t do so because of the finger of God”. He said.

The former NDC scribe insisted that the number of Ghanaians who voted in this years’ election were over 90 percent contrary to 68 percent put out by the Electoral Commission.

“Ghanaians voted massively in this year’s election and we in NPP also protected their ballots for them, our supporters seriously warned us over NDC stealing from us at the polling Centre’s so we also kept our IT team on their toes”. He said.

The three-time lucky NPP leader, Nana Akufo-Addo polled 5,716,026 to beat incumbent President John Mahama who had 4,713, 277.

The Electoral Commission therefore declared Nana Akufo-Addo a winner with a margin of 53.35 percent.

According to EC statistics, Nana Akufo-Addo recorded 53.85% of the total votes cast as against 44.40 by President Mahama.
