The 2016 Campaign Coordinator of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams, has questioned the integrity of the 2016 Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to make any good pronouncement insisting that the former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana has lost credibility in politics.
He described Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as “the most discredited person walking on the streets of Ghana” because of what he says are the many lies and propaganda which Nana Addo’s running mate is deceiving the public with.
His comments follow Dr. Bawumia’s claim that Northerners are not proud of John Mahama and don’t want him to occupy the Presidency again because in the last four years he’d represented them with incompetence, corruption which has worsened the plight of many Ghanaians.
“President John Mahama tells us that he is our Northern brother; that he is our Northern son and so we should vote for him. He told us this in 2012 and he is back in the Upper West Region and he is spreading the same message, that he is our Northern President. But we have a Northern President who presides over the looting of funds meant for the development of the North, we have a Northern President who presides over the lack of feeding grants for senior high schools in the north, we have a Northern President who is cancelling teacher and nursing training allowances and we have a Northern President who is presiding over so much corruption in this country”, he said.
But Mr. Kofi Adams reacting to Bawumia’s claims on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM said locals appreciate President Mahama with his development agenda which will be the basis for him to get re-elected in the December polls.
“He[Bawumia] will go and stand on campaign platforms and make baseless comments as if he’s singing, he’s just a disgraceful person. Nobody takes Bawumia serious again – Somebody who went to Supreme court to swear on oath with the Holy Quran and yet what ever he said were lies. Have you forgotten what he said at his Press Conference about the 2012 register? that there were more than 76,000 Togolese who have flooded our register and when he was asked to come and assist so that during the exhibition we can sift the illegal entrants from the register, the time came and Bawumia was nowhere to be found. He was the same person who planned with his Flagbearer to fight and remove Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong when the two decided to stabilize and correct acts of corruption that was festering in the NPP.
“When you go to Upper west region, where he was making those comments, residents do not drink water from dug outs anymore; now they have potable water in their localities. The biggest Library we have in this country is situated in the Upper West region. They have good roads, Regional Hospital, International Airport among others all because of the initiative and hardwork of President Mahama.”
