The New Patriotic Party (NPP) had raised issues about electronic transmission and concluded that the commission was not being transparent with the whole system despite the major role that political parties play in the election process.

The acting National Chairman of the NPP, Mr Freddie Blay for instance had said his party was not happy because it was one of the issues that they addressed that all things being equal in this modern age, e-transmission of the results should be the order of the day but it should not be done as if it was administrative and therefore urged the EC to be transparent in the arrangements.

Responding in a radio interview on Accra based Class FM Wednesday morning, the Greater Accra Regional Director of the EC, Mr John Kwame Amoah said there was no need for political parties to raise qualms since results will not be electronically transmitted in December.

“Yes it was an issue which we discussed at our last regional Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting. The commission is not going to do any electronic transmission,” Mr Amoah said.

He added: “What will be done is that all the results from the polling station will be brought to a collation centre for it to be projected unto a screen and from there the collated results will be sent to Accra.

He said It was an issue that the commission had already clarified to the parties and which was also discussed at the various levels that the EC engage with the parties.
