The former deputy chief of staff, Jonny Osei Kofi has stated that no vehicles are missing as claimed by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government adding that no staff working at the Flagstaff House during erstwhile Mahama-led administration stole cars.

He expressed shock over the allegations levelled against the former government saying the current government is perpetrating falsehood just to score cheap political points.

Speaking on Abusua FM’s Abusua Nkommo hosted by Kwame Adinkra, he questioned why the Acting Communications Director at the Flagstaff House who is making the claims refused to enquire during the inspection period.

He wondered the period the NPP government realised that the cars were missing from the Flagstaff House suggesting to government to invite all officers who were in charge of the cars to present their documents for comparison to establish the truth or otherwise.

‘I would be surprised if anybody claims that some cars are missing. We left the Flagstaff House a month ago, so at what point did they realised that the cars were missing. We left all the cars in their care, we all left the house January 6, 2017 and nobody has gone there again. Everything was documented, at what point did the cars get missing, they should search the cars, why are they accusing us wrongly,’ he asked.

Mr Kofi pledged to avail himself to help conduct an audit into the purported missing cars, asking why the NPP government refused to ask them about the missing cars before going public.
