According to the Communications Director of the party, Solomon Nkansah, these teams will complement the efforts of the party’s National Campaign team and also focus on executing what he calls the regional campaign agenda.

Speaking to Citi News’ Kojo Agyeman in Cape Coast where the party is expected to launch its campaign ahead of the December polls, Solomon Nkansah said they will also use the opportunity to also explain to Ghanaians why President John Dramani Mahama must be retained for the next four years.

“There is nothing like the re-launching of regional campaign team, but we have the various regional campaign teams in place that will seek to prosecute the regional campaign agenda. We have regional campaign coordinators who are the auxiliary strengths of the national campaign team who will work in direct link with the regional campaign coordinators and the regional campaign teams who will plan in conjunction with the national team to prosecute the various regional campaign strategies plans and programmes.”

Mr. Nkansah explained that the regional campaign teams will not be outdoored at their campaign launch in Cape Coast since they have already been named. “We don’t need to launch our regional campaign teams; what we are doing is the launching of the national campaign, but the team has already been named. Today is not going to be an activity to outdoor our campaign team for the regions but it’s an activity to outdoor our national campaign.”

“We are going to let Ghanaians know what essentially the president has done so far, what is in the pipeline, what he seeks to add and why Ghanaians ought to offer him the opportunity to serve them having served them so well,” he added.

Over 40,000 members of the NDC are expected to converge on the Cape Coast stadium in the Central Region today [Sunday] for the launch of their official campaign.
