Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho, is still hounding NPP’s vice presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, to provide evidence or apologise for his failed attempt to “incite the public against people from the Volta region”.

According to Mr. Anyidoho, Dr Bawumia who went underground following mounting pressure on him to furnish the Electoral Commission with names of foreigners in the voters’ register he claimed to have compiled is testing the ground with his “fufu pounding” campaign.

“Tell Bawumia that Ghanaians are waiting for him. He must provide evidence to salvage his image and integrity. The EC needs it to clean the register else he must apologise for the lies. That will win him more votes than pounding fufu,” Mr. Anyidoho told Okay FM, Monday.

The deputy general secretary said the NDC will continue to mount pressure on Dr Bawumia to speak on the EC voters’ register to close the chapter.

He observed that the NPP leadership can no longer escape the “lies they have churned” for months when government was focused on dealing with pressing problems like the power crisis which has virtually improved.

“We are now ready for the NPP. We shall match them and expose their lies. This election will be won on issues not falsehood. The NDC has taken the lead with evidence captured in the Green Book. President Mahama is confident and will let Ghanaians know his hard work and commitment to help transform Ghana and improve the lives of all,” Anyidoho noted.

Mr Anyidoho also took a swipe at the NPP flagbearer for what he described as a “vague” ‘One Village-One Dam promise. He said the NPP, which virtually could not provide a detailed report on how it intends to implement the ‘One District-One Factory’ promise is adding on to its tall list of promises.
