According to Tetteh Onomah, aka Tetteh Ghana, the executives of the party, particularly the ones at national and regional levels, caused the party’s massive defeat in the December elections.

He called on them to bow out in peace or face the wrath of the foot soldiers.

Mr Onomah told Daily Guide in Accra yesterday that the national executives of the party instituted the 13-member committee, chaired by Prof. Kwesi Botchwey, to investigate the NDC’s defeat in order to escape blame.

He said the party’s executives know very well that they let everybody down and said the time has come for new faces to show up.

“We are going to be hostile towards current executives who do not heed the call to bow out.

“Everybody in Ghana knows the reasons for the NDC’s defeat. Apart from negative external factors that went against us, the executives were very arrogant and were not ready to listen to the foot soldiers. In fact, they treated everybody with disdain.”

Tetteh Ghana said that during the 2016 elections, all branch executives of the party were abandoned by the executives at the constituency and national levels and grassroots participation became problematic.

He said the executives had the power to help people get jobs but refused to do so, insisting that “they should come out and tell name any branch executive of the party who was given a job.”

“The only people who enjoyed in the party were the constituency, regional and national executives. When you go to them they look at you as if you are a beggar. They will sometimes tell you that you are complaining too much.”

He said when the NDC won power, the national, regional and constituency executives stopped the regular meetings they previously held with branch executives, adding that the situation worsened from 2014.

Tetteh Onomah said that “we have to get dedicated executives to work for the NDC.”
