The Diverse Currencies of Africa: Impact on Economic Growth

It seems Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, founder and leader of Glorious Word Ministry International, is no longer a prophet, but has assumed the role of the Electoral Commissioner of Ghana, due to his incessant declaration of Nana Akufo-Addo, NPP flagbearer as the winner ahead of the December 7 polls.

Never a day passes without Owusu Bempah jumping on a radio station to declare emphatically that Akufo-Addo has won the elections in the spiritual realm. I do not see things in the spiritual realm, but I can say with certainty that I am a child of God who reads and understands the bible. Therefore, some of the pronouncements of Owusu Bempah do not add up in my estimation.

First off, Owusu Bempah claims every time that he sees Akufo-Addo in the spiritual realm as winning the elections. But seeing something in the spiritual realm is very different from being assigned the responsibility by God to go tell His people that Akufo-Addo will win. It is very different from Exodus 9:1 when God said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: “Let my people go, so that they may worship me”.

Again, in the book of Jonah 1:1 God told him to, “Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me”. But Jonah ran away by boarding a ship to Tarshish to flee from the LORD. The story goes on that eventually Jonah was found out and thrown overboard. Later Jonah was swallowed by a whale, and eventually spurned out after he prayed for forgiveness.

Following his repentance Jonah went to Nineveh and cried out, “In forty days, Nineveh will be overthrown!” The king and the people of Nineveh took the message of Jonah very seriously, fasted, and prayed for repentance and forgiveness. As a result, God in His own infinite wisdom changed his mind about destroying Nineveh leading Jonah to become very disappointed.

It is therefore, very smart to conclude that God who is the all-knowing may say something today but might change his mind tomorrow if He wants to. In the Kingdom of God, there is nothing definite otherwise, none of us will be living and breathing freely today.

Owusu Bempah in an interview this week claimed that in 2013 he saw in the spiritual realm that Akufo-Addo has been destined or ordained to win the 2016 Election but he needs some fortification and some rituals performed on him. Bempah continued that he informed Akufo-Addo who went to see him for the rituals.

When Owusu Bempah was however asked what rituals he performed on Akufo-Addo or what did Akufo-Addo do, he declined to give specifics. That was when I realized that Owusu Bempah has something up his sleeves. With these kinds of prophets parading in Ghana today, if they ask you to perform some rituals it mainly bodes down to money. You would be told to donate a huge sum of money. That is the bottom-line! So I strongly believe Akufo-Addo parted away with a huge a huge sum of money to Owusu Bempah.

With that kind of money changing hands Owusu Bempah is expected to do all he can to make his make-believe dream or prophesy come true hence his daily preaching concerning the elections. What is even baffling is what he continues to say that Akufo-Addo can only win the elections if it is not rigged by the Chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC).

God in one breath is saying that Akufo-Addo will win the elections. And in another breath, the same God is saying that Akufo-Addo’s win is possible only if the Chair of the Electoral Commission does not rig the election. If you critically examine the two statements one can only deduce that Owusu Bempah is trying to absolve himself from any blame should Akufo-Addo lose the elections.

If Akufo-Addo wins the elections, which is highly doubtful, Owusu Bempah will jump and claim credit, but if he loses, the same Owusu Bempah will say that the EC Chair has stolen the elections from him, thus creating confusion in the country. Indeed, Owusu Bempah either is trying to play double standards or is trying to have it both ways.

Now we are hearing that Owusu Bempah has pitched or put his church on the line as far as the December 7 polls is concerned. Owusu Bempah is now saying that Ghanaians should burn his church if Akufo-Addo does not win and he is even leading a 21-day fasting and prayer for Akufo-Addo.

One may ask, if Akufo-Addo has already won the elections, why the 21-day prayer and fasting? One will think that it is only when Owusu Bempah thinks Akufo-Addo is far from winning at all cost that he would instigate a 21-day prayer and fasting to boost things up.

No one in Ghana has the time to burn Owusu Bempah’s church. The NDC people are not arsonists. The NDC folks do not burn churches or markets or set fires to electricity transformers. We have a certain group of people in Ghana who are noted for these diabolical acts. So Owusu Bempah should get ready because if his prophesy turns out to be false, the NPP supporters would never forgive him.

Please stay with above information until you hear from me again!
