Joyce Bawa Mogtari, Spokesperson for President Mahama’s campaign, has advised the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, Nana Addo, to step down for much younger people to lead the opposition party. Joyce Bawa has opined that the NPP Flagbearer is too old to continue to hold the leadership position of the party.

The three-time Presidential Candidate of the NPP, has been criticized by many especially his opponents, because of his age. Though many have opined that Nana Addo is too old to govern the country, Ghanaians have come to understand that there is really no stopping the NPP Flagbearer from going after his dream.

Speaking on the Morning Starr Wednesday, Joyce Bawa said that Nana Addo has contributed his bit to the growth of the NPP and the country as well. She stressed that the ‘aging’ NPP Flagbearer should bow out, to give younger persons opportunity to govern the country.

Envisaging his possible defeat, Hon. Joyce said that Nana Addo will be retired from politics on December 7, 2016 when Ghana goes to the polls. She argued that Nana Addo’s age would not allow him to take up the tough task of running a country. According to Madam Bawa,

This is the chance for Nana Akufo-Addo to give way to a younger leader. It is time for Nana Addo to retire from politics; his age doesn’t allow him to take country’s responsibility.

Hon Joyce who is also serving as Deputy Transport Minister, hailed the Mahama-led administration for a job well done over the years. She said that even though the President faced severe challenges in the initial part of his administration, he exuded so much competence in handling them.
