Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo said this when she met with the members who defected from the NDC.

Bearing the names, Fed Up Group (FUG) and Peace Logo. The Fed Up group members numbering about 5,000 are from Sege, Atimpoku, Nuasu, Akuse, Lorlornyo, BeleKpfe, Daffour London and Kpong.

They promised to work tirelessly to get Nana Akufo-Addo elected as President of Ghana, to pursue the agenda for change.

Mrs Akufo-Addo in her speech defended the NPP’s “one factory per district” policy and said “only those without vision, maintain this is impossible. Nana Addo is a man of vision, who will ensure he fulfills his promise, to stimulate local economies and provide jobs for our jobless youth”.

She decried the difficulty in accessing quality health care and reiterated the NPP message of ensuring that they do not only provide infrastructure but ensure all aspects of the health system, including the NHIS, work to give all Ghanaians the quality health care we deserve.

The leader of the defected groups thanked Mrs Akufo-Addo for welcoming them into the New Patriotic Party.

She said she and her family had been members of the NDC since she attained voting age. Her decision to join the NPP and recruit other NDC members to join the NPP was based on the corruption and lies of the NDC.

She added that her strong belief that Nana Akufo-Addo would deliver on his promise, particularly with regards to free SHS, so their children can also become lawyers, doctors and teachers.

Earlier on in the day, Mrs Akufo-Addo visited patients at the Volta River Authority (VRA) Akosombo Hospital, and presented items such as bladder irrigation sets, gauze, gloves and aprons to the maternity ward, as part of her commitment to support various hospitals across the country.

She then made a stop at the Atimpoku lorry station, where she interacted with the sellers and drivers, and appealed to them, to vote massively for her husband.

She was accompanied by the Regional Executives of the Eastern and Greater Accra Regions, parliamentary candidates for Asuogamang and Lower Manya Krobo constituencies Nana Adu Dankwa and Samuel N. Ayertey and their constituency executives and other party bigwigs.
