A 32-year-old man has been arrested by the Wasa Akropong Police Command for allegedly butchering his 28-year-old ex-lover, one Mariama at Wasa Akropong in the Western Region.
The suspect whose name was only given as Sampson was reportedly last seen with Mariama at a drinking spot.
According to reports from Obeng Mframa, a local reporter in Wasa Akropong, the suspect, Sampson invited Mariama for a drink which she agreed but never returned.
Obeng Mframa mentioned that Maraima’s relatives upon sensing danger conducted a search with the help of some young men in the area and later chanced on the lifeless body of Mariama, with her private parts removed in a nearby bush.
He added that Mariama’s relatives alerted the police who later arrested the suspect at his hideout in Wasa Domeabra in the Western Region.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Wasa Akropong Government hospital awaiting autopsy.
