Mahama’s Recent Admission of Mistakes Dishonest – John Boadu

The Acting General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has described the recent public apology of President John Dramani Mahama as deceptive, dishonest, and way too low for a president, who just wants votes in the upcoming elections.

Addressing the nation last Wednesday when he took his turn on the Evening Encounter on Ghana Television, President Mahama stated “every mistake I made was done by good faith,” a statement that Mr Boadu claims sought to position the president in a remorseful mood ahead of the 2016 elections.

But the National Organiser of the NPP described the show of remorse by the president as insincerity and fake, and a sign that shows the change agenda has hit him and his cohorts hard.

He has challenged President Mahama to show remorse in totality and in sincerity and quit.

The Acting General Secretary together with the Minority Chief Whip and the Campaign Strategist for NPP, Dan Kwaku Botwe, is in Tamale to train selected trainers from constituencies in the Northern Region on the CI94.

This he said is to ensure the party’s operatives are working and support the winning agenda.

John Boadu commended the Electoral Commission on the electoral process so far but was quick to add that SD cards contain total number of voters in the constituencies instead of containing polling stations specific register.

On issues of biometric verification machines, he stated emphatically that the New Patriotic Party will not tolerate a deliberate allocation of faulty biometric verification and deliberate delays of electoral materials to some “strongholds of some political parties” specifically strongholds of the New Patriotic Party.

The Electoral Commission will allocate two biometric verification machines to each polling station and the New Patriotic Party insists the machines must be of good quality that will ensure a smooth process.

On security ahead of the polls, the Acting Secretary revealed the New Patriotic Party will not be the party to stoke violence, condemning the attack on the residence of the party’s flagbearer.

He has challenged the Ghana Police Service to remain partial in dealing with all political parties.

He, however, raised eyebrows on police’s inability of the police to arrest the driver of the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Collins Dauda who openly boasted of his shooting prowess and his sudden disappearance after he was declared wanted by the police.
