Mahama Is Using His Life As Yardstick For Ghana’s Economy

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Upper Denkyira West Constituency, Benjamin Kofi Ayeh, has indicated that President John Mahama, is living a life of lie if he believes the Ghanaian Economy is the same as his transformed life.

Judging him by his speeches on the economy, the MP said President Mahama sees Ghana’s economy as booming because he compares it to the transformation in his life-where he has risen from the ranks to the tops.

Speaking on Badwam on Adom TV on Monday, the MP said before becoming the President of the nation, he rose through the ranks from an MP and a deputy Minister to become the vice President, hence he thinks same can be said about the Ghanaian economy under his reign.

His statement follows President Mahama’s call on Ghanaians to be optimistic about the future of the country because many indications show the country is performing well in terms of growth and development in the various sectors.

“But that is a lie because records from Bank of Ghana indicates that the economy has been dwindling since 2009”, Benjamin Ayeh underscored.

He pointed out that even feeding grant to schools in the three northern regions are delaying and thus headmasters are threatening to close down.

“And yet the President is promising to expand free secondary school education to the whole country when he has failed providing feeding grants”, he observed.

Mr. Ayeh, was wondering what the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will do with an additional four years when it did not achieve much with the eight years Ghanaians gave them.

“If governance is all about borrowing and putting up some few infrastructure, everyone can do it”, he held.

He, therefore, admonished everyone to look at his or her life situation and vote because President Mahama is using his life as a yardstick for the economy.
