The Volta Regional Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is putting the blame of the party’s defeat in the 2016 general elections at the doorsteps of appointees and executives who were entrusted to assist former President John Mahama to govern the nation.

To him, after carefully analyzing that factors that contributed to the party’s defeat, he has come to terms that the conduct of party executives and appointees led to the down of the former Ghanaian leader and the party in general.

He told local radio station in Accra, Okay FM, in an interview, Saturday, that greed on the part of party officials and appointees contributed heavily to the defeat the party suffered in the hands of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“I am stating emphatically that President Mahama was a victim of greed by appointees; he was a victim of greed by party executives; he was a victim of not having been told the truth of what was happening on the ground,” he noted.

Bandi who so emotional discussing the party’s defeat on air despite calls by the Prof. Kwesi Botchway Committee to channel all their grievances to that committee further told the FM station that he is confident that Mr. Mahama when given another opportunity to lead the country will not repeat the mistakes he did with his appointments.

“If he [President Mahama] is given another opportunity, he will correct himself. All the appointments that he made, he will not repeat them. All the DCEs that he appointed, he will not do same. If you are a DCE and you are not in touch with your people, he will not appoint you. This will solve the problem.”

In his view, the NDC lost the 2016 elections legitimately to the NPP because of the conduct of party functionaries.
