KUMASI Technical Institute (KTI) has announced its withdrawal from the upcoming Super Zonal competition at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Ashanti Region.
A statement released to the media yesterday stressed that the decision was arrived at a meeting between the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), Old Students Association and management of the school.
And it was taken in respect of the incident that occurred between students of the school and some policemen last week, the statement said.
“The decision is part of measures management has taken to bring peace to the school and the community,” it pointed out.
It continued that management of the school has also not asked any group of persons or association to physically assault anybody in the name of the school, adding that ‘Anybody who goes there with KTI uniform does so at his/her own risk.’
It would be recalled that some jubilating students of KTI last week clashed with police officers which incident led to several of the students sustaining various degrees of injuries.
