Ghanaian footballer, Kevin-Prince Boateng has shown a rare benevolence to his Las Palmas team mates after a bad match in Villarreal where they were beat 2-1.

Las Palmas was invited to the La Liga awards, and Boateng dipped into his pockets to pay for a jet to fly them straight back home; saving his pals a cumbersome eight hour journey.

Ordinarily, the Las Palmas Stars should be taking a cumbering trip back to Gran Canaria after the awards ceremony in Valencia in which they will be stopping for four hours in Barajas.

However, to save them the stress, Prince Boateng dipped into his pocket and footed the bill for a private flight home for himself and his team mates.

The 29 year old has proved to be a real hit with the Las Palmas players, he has become the main organiser of activities outside of the club, regularly inviting the group to dinner right from a few days after he signed for the club.

Las Palmas will be hoping that they can keep Boateng as his contract runs out in June and now the transfer window has opened he will be free to talk to other clubs about a free move in the summer. His performances for the Spanish outfit have been fantastic but whether he would command a regular spot in a Premier League midfield remains to be seen.

The German born Ghanaian joined Las Palmas on a one year deal in August, 2016 after spending the second half of last season with Italian Serie A club AC Milan. Boateng has always been a popular figure in the dressing room wherever he has gone, he did not really make a huge impact in the Premier League with Tottenham but certainly proved his critics wrong at AC Milan.

After playing in some of the top leagues in the world like; Hertha Berlin, Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, Portsmouth, AC Milan (twice) and Schalke, Kevin-Prince Boateng moved to Spain on a one-year contract with Las Palmas this summer.

The talented Boateng has a German mother, and a Ghanaian father. He has played in two FIFA world Cup tournaments with Ghana’s Black Stars. He has indicated interest in a return to the Black Stars, especially to earn him an opportunity to play a third World Cup.
