The company also presented a one-year bursary to 100 needy but brilliant students in Manhean Presbyterian Primary School and Manhean TMA Primary and JHS.

The bursary is aimed at assisting low-income families in the community who cannot foot the bills of their school-going children.

This was to exhibit the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative and to provide the needed educational materials in the bid to enhance teaching and learning in public schools at Tema New Town.

The Country Manager for Karpowership Ghana, Volkan Buyukbicer, said Karpowership was pleased to contribute its quota to the development of public schools in the community in which it operates.

“Guided by our core value of Community Responsibility, Karpowership cares for the less privileged and remains committed to the improvement of communities we operate in,” he said.

“We believe that if the students are motivated in the classroom, they will grow to achieve great things in future. Hence, we are committed to help with the tools and resources they need to achieve these great things.”

The heads of the beneficiary schools expressed appreciation to Karpowership for their continual support.

“We are very grateful for these donations and we promise to put the items to good use, to raise academic standards of the school,” said Elizabeth Oppong, Headmistress of Anglican Primary A and B.

A beneficiary of the Manhean TMA Racheal Mensah pledged on behalf of herself and colleagues, that they would make use of the bursary by studying hard this academic year.

Since it began operations in 2015, Karpowership has been supporting the community schools and the fishing community through its CSR.

Karpowership has been committed to supplying sustainable and affordable electricity to Ghana, since it began producing power.

Karadeniz Powership Ayşegül Sultan, with an installed capacity of 235MW, has been running efficiently and has been producing, on average, 220 MW of uninterrupted electrical energy.
