The “Kokrokoo” show host has largely been slated for being bias, inconsistent and particularly undecided on which party to rally behind and has also on several occasions been accused of being a sympathizer of both the NDC and NPP.

Speaking on Newsfile on Multi tv, Kwame Sefa Kayi stated that the attacks and insults are unavoidable so long as one remains in the public space. He explained that it is the norm for party officials and the general public to lambast every journalist who brings out information that doesn’t favor their party.

“I’ve developed this “Teflon guy” attitude to it all, call it “dead goat syndrome” if you like, the moment you work in the public space, you are perceived in one way or the other…if you speak the truth and it benefits Party A, Party B will think you are a sympathizer of the other, if it’s the other way round, same thing”.

Responding to questions about his ability to handle controversies and attacks surrounding his political position, Kwame Sefa Kayi said he is not obliged to satisfy people’s demands by shaping information to suit them.

He added that the most crucial factor for him is the exhibition of professionalism and accuracy in the dispensation of his duties.

“I don’t go out looking for balance, the issue on the table is what I say, I’m not saying it to please… I cannot be perfect but at least I’m not fake, as long as what I’m saying is the truth and has no malicious intention”, he said.

He urged media persons to display proficiency and accuracy in the performance of their duties ensuring that the larger picture of is not distorted.
