It’s My Time For Leadership

Presidential hopeful of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, says it his time now to take the mantle of leadership of the country after years of contributing towards the development of the nation.

“I have served my country; I believe it is a way that the nation has benefited from me,” he said.

Dr. Nduom made this observation over the weekend during his second live broadcast on all GN Media platforms including four television and 22 radio stations across the country ahead of the Wednesday, December 7, polls.

According to him, he is equipped enough in terms of experience to take the responsibility of the country as President.

This, he explained, was because he had been an Assembly member, Member of Parliament (MP) and a Cabinet Minister before, making him more qualified to govern this country.

He emphasised that his experience cuts across both private and public sectors. In this regard, Dr. Nduom urged Ghanaians to vote massively for him on December 7.

“I want the chance and I am asking for the opportunity to use all the positive experiences for the benefit of millions of Ghanaians,” he pleaded.

Dr. Nduom however, acknowledged the contributions of past regimes towards the attainment of the country’s success story.

“All of them who came had good intentions, and I must say they all did their part and that is why the country is where it is today,” he stressed.

The PPP flag-bearer nonetheless, could not understand why the country should be saddled with a huge debt of over 65%, which he said was gradually taking the country back to the status of a Highly Indebted Poor Country (HIPIC).

“We are in a country bedeviled by preventable diseases; we are still struggling with malaria and cholera,” he lamented.

Dr. Nduom recounted that a couple of weeks ago the Central Region recorded over 400 cases of cholera. That situation, he said, should not have happened in this 21st century.

Although he admitted the country has lots of challenges, he was optimistic that a PPP government under his watch will find solutions to all the problems.

“That is why I am saying that every Ghanaian, come December 7, has an opportunity to bring someone new, with big ideas, great courage and tactical experience so that we can overcome these challenges using inclusive administration, unity and peace for us to become a stronger nation and more prosperous people,” he said.

The PPP’s focus, according to him, was very unique “because upon assumption of office we will engage in job creation through competent, incorruptible leadership which will be different from that of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).”

He explained that every policy that a PPP government will implement whether education, health or energy, will end up creating jobs for the teeming Ghanaian youth.

The PPP leader further emphasised that his administration would also ensure that the country’s local farmers are empowered to increase their yields through mechanisation and financial support.

“The PPP is here to ask for your vote to ensure that our farmers, businessmen and women get state support to expand their business and farms to create jobs for our teeming unemployed youth,” he stressed.

“I have travelled extensively across the length and breadth of the country and I know what our farmers, especially rice growers, go through just to get their produce milled,” he added.
