According to him, his prime goal is to play a crucial role in reorganizing the National Democratic Congress [NDC] for the 2020 presidential polls.

Speaking on Abusua Nkomo hosted by Kwame Adinkra, Mr. Ackon indicated the time has come for all NDC faithful to end the blame games in the party and rally massively behind the party to commence a unified reorganizational process for the next general elections.

He charged all party members not to bring division in the NDC party but continue to offer their unalloyed support to the longest ever serving political party in Ghana’s political history.

Quizzed what his plans were following his defeat in the December 7 Parliamentary election he replied” I will be working more in Obuasi but the truth is that I will play a key role in our party’s reorganization for the 2020 elections to ensure we assume the presidential seat”

He added,” Since we started voting in 1992 I can say that this year’s elections remains the easiest one the NDC was confident of winning but unfortunately that didn’t happen therefore I believe that when we come together as one big family and reorganize ourselves well then we are capable of coming back to power”.

Alexander Ackon who served only ten [10] months in office also as leader of The Ashanti Regional Co-ordinating Council boss commended President John Dramani Mahama for his humility, trust and the opportunity offered him to serve the good people of Ghana specifically those in the Ashanti region.

He concluded by saying ”I have met some people telling me I am a good person but in a wrong political party but I totally disagree with them and I want them to rubbish that assertion and respect people’s decision of joining any political party of their choice”.
