Obviously, Christmas not in Ghana, cannot be like Christmas in Ghana. That is the way it was for entertainment lovers, as there was much that went down. The best part of it was that most have been hyped, have actually kept to the hype.

Shows in the country had started since 24th, through to boxing day. Here are how the best three shows went down:

Organised by Citi 97.3, this concert actually made it a night to remember. From the performance of Shatta Wale to amazing jokes by Hogan and Chemikal, there was completely no dull moments.

The event which held on the 24th of December kicked off with Okyeame Kwame’s display of sheer talent which kept audience captive in complete entertainment for 30 minutes, going back to the 90s.

During the event, Accra International Conference Centre saw some surprises including Joey N  and E. L unannounced performance which seemed to be one of the talking points of the event. Others including DJ Arman, Guru, Dee Aja, Vision DJ and A. I, Article Wan were right on hand to entertain the white top and blue jeans audience.

This concert which went down on Christmas day at the Accra International Conference Center had in every way, kept to the hype it received.  The king of rap, Sarkodie with most Ghanaian rappers and musicians took turns at making Ghana proud.

The show didn’t only witness Ghanaians turning out to honour one of Africa’s kings of rap, Sarkodie, it as well witnessed some of the best acts on the continent, with most Ghanaian rappers and musicians entertaining the crowd in ways hardly to forget.

Performers at the concert included Sarkodie who wowed the crowd, TeePhlow, Stonebwoy, Efya, Guru, Strongman, Pappy Kojo, Joey B, and Jupiter. Nigerian artistes including Burna Boy, Flavour, Reekado Banks, and Patoranking who together with Sarkodie performed their multi-award winning collabo ‘No kissing baby’.

The event which was hosted by Primetime’s Giovanni and comedian DKB also had some hilarious moments with DKB. In total, it was a show that made it a one of a kind Christmas in Ghana.

This show which went down at the Banquet Hall, State House on the 26 December, is one to remember, most especially for those missing the groove of the ’90s and before.

First of all, Joy Fm did a great job with giving a scenery of 70’s party, and thanks to the costume of participants, it was a nice time travel to the golden era of the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s music.

Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons’ ‘Oh What A Night’, Pointer Sisters’ ‘I’ll Take You There’, 10cc with ‘Dreadlock Holiday’, and many other such great songs, perfectly conspired until they got every foot dancing in nostalgia.

The event ended at around 3 am, leaving a testament for so many as to what a Christmas in Ghana can be like.
