File Photo: Hassan Ayariga says the media has no role in announcing election results
Flagbearer of the All People’s Congress, Mr. Hassan Ayariga is urging all media houses to desist projecting election results prior to the Electoral Commission’s official declaration.
According to him, the media has assumed the role of the EC by making varied projections which he noted might spark chaos and confusion in the country.
Several media houses have Projected a solid win for the NPP Flagbearer, 2 days after the general elections, an act that has generated some controversy in the public.
In an interview with Joynews, the APC Flagbearer cautioned the media about taking the lead to project the likely outcome of the just ended polls ahead of the official declaration by the Electoral Commission which is the country’s official electoral body.
He admonished the media to halt any further projections and submit to the EC as they work towards releasing the official and final election result declaration as that is what will reflect the true outcome of the polls.
