He said drivers are partners in development and should volunteer to provide information to the Police and other security agencies. Mr. Amissah-Arthur made the appeal when he interacted with the various driver unions at Kasoa, as part of his four-day campaign tour of the Central Region.

He urged drivers to be on the lookout for those passengers who would hire their services on election day with an intention to cause mayhem at polling centres and report them to the Police.

“I will appeal to the various driver unions to help make this year’s elections peaceful by reporting to the Police and other security agencies, any passenger who would hire their service to cause trouble at a polling station ,” he said. He said Ghana’s democracy has come to stay and it is important that all stakeholders help in ensuring a peaceful election on December 7th.

To begin his campaign tour in the Central Region, Mr. Amissah-Arthur paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Odupong Ofaako, Naa Ayi Odupong Awoshi Tetteh II, who endorsed the second term bid of President John Dramani Mahama.

The Chief commended the President for the various developmental projects in the area including the Kasoa interchange, and the community Day Senior High School projects among others.
