Hajia Abiba Nneba, mother of President John Dramani Mahama, has passed on Tuesday. President John Mahama in a tweet payed tribute to his late mom.
Edward Omane Boamah, the communications minister also confirmed the news to GhanaStar.com News but did not give further details.
Family sources also confirmed that the late mother of the president is expected to be buried later today at Damango in the Northern Region, in accordance with Islamic tradition.
President Mahama has therefore put on hold his Accounting To The People Tour of the Greater Accra Region which he started on Tuesday.
Hajia Abiba Nneba is survived by six children including Ghana’s president.
