Presidential Candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) Ivor Kobina Greenstreet says he is not in the presidential race to do any party’s bidding except that of the CPP.

He, therefore, noted that he will continue to punch holes in any policy be it that of the ruling government or the opposition parties.

This follows a reaction of the leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after Mr Greenstreet went to the Koforidua Magazine to describe the ‘1-district, 1-factory’ policy as bogus. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is said to have taken exception to the criticism, wondering how a fellow opposition candidate will criticize his promise.

“But the point is he wants to come into power and so, he is promising Ghanaians things,” Mr Greenstreet said while addressing CPP’s supporters in the Mion Constituency of the Northern Region.

“I also with the Convention People’s Party wants to come to power,” he said on Friday, November 18. “I am not in this race to help any other party except the Convention People’s Party.”

He said he still stands by his description of NPP’s policy as “bogus”. The legal practitioner said during the much-touted golden age of business under the John Kufuor-led NPP government, “how many factories were they able to bring to Ghana?”

He questioned how many businesses Nana Akufo-Addo was able to bring to Ghana as a foreign minister. He asked the people of Mion to vote for the CPP candidate for development.

“The Convention People’s Party is going to do all it can to make sure Mion is the center of activity and get its fair share of development projects that it deserves.”

The CPP presidential candidate expressed optimism that since the NPP and NDC candidates are from the same tribe, the CPP parliamentary candidate will win the December 7 elections.
