DEPUTY Chief of Staff, Abu Jinapor, has said that it was a prudent decision by government to outline new policies to manage transport services of its appointed ministers.
He said the country was in extraordinarily difficult times and therefore will need to manage its finances and scarce resources.
Mr. Jinapor said this in an interview on Class FM in Accra yesterday where he mentioned that it was logical for the new government to make do with the vehicles used by the previous government since most of them were in good shape.
According to the deputy chief of staff, “when you look at the budget for the 2017 fiscal year, one would realise that the country is in obscure time which has led to the directives by the president.”
He continued that it was unnecessary for a new government to replace existing cars just because it was used by someone prior to them.
On the issue of missing vehicles, he mentioned that about 57 cars have so far been retrieved and the committee was working on these matters to help retrieve the rest
