The vice presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) says the issue of unemployment in the country is a ticking bomb which will explode if care is not taken.
Addressing the public and party faithfuls at his public lecture at the National Theatre themed, “The state of Ghana’s economy, a foundation of concrete or straw”, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia stated that the issue of unemployment is a big problem since most of the people in this category constitute the youth.
According to Dr. Bawumia, there are areas such as agriculture among others which can be developed to provide jobs for these youth. He added that of all the issues, the
President chooses to blame the poor performance of the economy on the 2013 election petition other than finding solutions to these issues.
“Ghana’s crisis is a result of corruption and the mismanagement of the economy and not any election court proceedings as he claims”, he concluded.
