FIFA president Gianni Infantino has congratulated Wa All Stars on their triumph in the Ghana Premier League and urged them to build on the success.
A letter to the Wa club, who sealed their first league title last week, said the triumph has been achieved off the back of true team effort and said it has also showed that football can transcend more traditional backgrounds.
All Stars’ title is the first by a northern club in Ghana, handing them the ticket to represent the country at next year’s CAF Champions League.
Meanwhile, the Premier League Board says Bechem United and WAFA would engage in a play-off to determine who finished sixth in the Ghana Premier League in Cape Coast on October 2nd.
The two sides finished on 42 points each and identical head-to-head record and would need the play-off to sort out their final classification.
