Mr. Lawrence Jamil Nkutia from Mafi Akramado in the Volta region said he has the magic wand to solve the energy crisis known in local parlance as dumsor.

The electrician disclosed this after picking his nomination forms at the office of the Electoral Commission in Accra, Tuesday.

In an interview with Adom News’ Afia Boakyewaa Yiadom, Mr. Nkutia said he is the “modern day saviour” to bring real change to Ghanaians and save them from the incompetences of the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.

He indicated that, his decision to contest the elections is due to the mismanagement of the country by successive governments that have ruled Ghana after Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first President.

According to him, Ghana is retrogressing due to economic mismanagement, corruption and lack of honesty on the part of leaders voted into power.

On how he intends to solve the energy problems, Mr. Nkutia said he has a lot of inventions including using solar power to reduce the load on the national electricity grid.

Even at his village where there is no electricity, he claimed he has been able to invent a solar lighting system which lasts up to 12 hours so the people can have power without being on the national grid.

Mr. Nkutia said changing NDC for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is no change but the real change is voting massively for him to end what he described as the unbridled corruption in the country.
