Don’t Get Distracted By Opponents’ Lies

The Chief of Staff, Mr Julius Debrah, has observed that most political parties contesting this year’s election do not have any meaningful message for Ghanaians and because of that they have resolved to attack the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government with lies and deceit.

He has, therefore, asked members of the NDC, especially the campaign team, to remain focused and not allow the utterances of any political party to distract them.

Addressing party members on the first day of his one-week tour of the Upper West Region (UWR) on Tuesday, Mr Debrah said there was the need for every member and supporter of the party to use any platform they mounted to explain the policies and programmes outlined in the 2016 Manifesto of the NDC.

“We are a strong party with a good track record of progress which most political parties, including the New Patriotic Party (NPP), envy. Let us not allow them to use lies and deceit to make us lose focus,” he said.

About the tour

The Chief of Staff is in the UWR as part of the NDC’s plan to explain the various policies outlined in the party’s 2016 Manifesto which was launched last Saturday in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Mr Debrah is expected to pay a courtesy call on all chiefs, traditional leaders and grass-roots supporters of the party.

He would also address the public and explain in detais each of the policies the NDC government plans to implement should the party get re-elected at the December 7 polls.

While in the region, Mr Debrah would be accompanied by the Upper West Regional Minister, Alhaji Amin Amidu Sulemani, and the parliamentary candidates of the various constituencies in the region.

We are ahead

Mr Debrah said over the last few years that the NDC had been in office, President John Mahama had done a lot to improve and enhance the well-being of Ghanaians.

He said although the NDC’S opponents would debate the party’s achievements, records showed that since the party took over, there had been tremendous development in the area of education, health, agriculture and infrastructure.

“We should focus more on showing Ghanaians what the NDC government has done and what it intends doing,” he emphasised.

He said the NDC had come far to allow any political party to use lies and deceit to make them lose focus.

Concerning the party’s manifesto, Mr Debrah said all the policies outlined in it would be given maximum attention.
