Three former High Court judges have taken their matter over the documentary film by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas to the Court of Justice of the Economic Community of West African States (Ecowas) in Abuja, Nigeria.
Justices Paul Uuter Dery, Mustapha Habib Logoh and Gilbert Ayisi Addo want the sub-regional Court to ensure that the human rights are not violated.
Their writ is against the Republic of Ghana, the Chief Justice, the Judicial Council and the Attorney General.
Among the 11 reliefs being sought by the three judges are an order to get the government of Ghana to pay compensatory damages and payment with interest of their salaries from January, 2016 since they were suspended.
The three high court judges were among a total of 34 judges implicated in a petition by Anas after his investigative film found them taking monies to supposedly compromise judgements.
Some were suspended after prima facie cases were determined against them while a few others were exonerated.
Some judges like Justice John Ajet-Nasam and Ivy Heward-Mills, who were found guilty, have been dismissed.
With his investigation, Anas was rewarded the 2015 GJA Journalist of the Year, a move contested by Justice Dery as unlawful.
