Deal With Anita de Soso and Others Just Like ‘NPP Sympathizers’ – NPP Cautions Police

Mr Obiri Boahen accused the Police Service, under John Kudalor of being pretentious as they have suddenly discovered themselves only when the cases involve suspected NPP sympathizers.

After recounting a series of alleged criminal cases involving some NDC bigwigs he challenged the Police to be fair in their dealings and go after those people as crime has no deadline.

Mr. Obiri Boahen made these remarks as he addressed a media briefing Wednesday 18 January at the NPP head office at Asylum down.

“We remind the Police under John Kudalor that they cannot suddenly discover themselves only when events involve suspected NPP supporters and sympathizers.

We demand even handedness from the Police. Crime has no expiry date and we await what their response will be in these cases which we have recounted among others. The police must demonstrate that their sword is double edged. They cannot discover their muscle only when the event involves suspected NPP sympathizers – Anita de Soso and others are still around.”

He stated that the NDC has no authority to accuse the NPP of acting wrongfully and against the law.

The NPP Deputy General Secretary also cautioned the NDC, asserting that if the NDC should bring into disrepute the name of the President Nana Akufo-Addo, they will reply in equal measure.

“As for Hon. Kofi Portuphy, Asiedu Nketia, and Koku Anyidoho and their gang, ladies and gentlemen, we shall caution that from now on if they throw mud on the president in whom we unprecedentedly, overwhelmingly, majority of Ghanaians have reposed their confidence in, we will pay them back. Enough is enough.”

The NDC have organized a series of media briefings, accusing the NPP of doing about the post-election violence and urging them on to take over state installations.

The NDC was handed a historic defeat in the December 7 2016 general election and power has transitioned from the NDC to the NPP with Nana Akufo-Addo as President.

The two parties have ruled the country in turns since the fourth republic.
