Private legal practitioner, David Annan, has described the pressure group, OccupyGhana, as shadowy, and questioned the true identity of the personalities behind the group, which has been demanding accountability and justice in the country. According to him the group is being spearheaded by faceless personalities who are hiding their identity, hence asked Ghanaians not to take the group serious.

Mr Annan’s argument comes on the back of a recent statement issued by the group on November 2, 2016 on the Alfred Agbesi Woyome case with the Attorney General. The statement was signed off with the name of OccupyGhana. This, according to Mr Annan, who is one of the lawyers for Woyome, demonstrate the persons behind the group are faceless.

“The issue is, who exactly are these persons. I assign them to be a shadowy group because when they put up a statement, they did not have the decency to put a name under it…so ask yourself who and who constitute this group” he asked.

He claimed that whenever people known to be part of the OccupyGhana group is dragged to court, they deny being part of the pressure group and that for him, cast a dent on their credibility. “Whenever we attach somebody to it, they come out to deny it…one is Ken Ofori Atta who we have said is a member of the group in a court matter.

He is saying that that is not correct. So I have a difficulty in taking anything that this group says,” he claimed.

He questioned the group’s reasons for accusing the Attorney General in the Woyome saga, claiming the group has no locus in the matter.

“They are not parties in the matter therefore I refer to them as busy bodies…in law such people are described as officious by-standers! Intermeddlers” said indicating that the case is between the Attorney General, Mr Woyome and Martin Amidu.
