This follows agitations from customers who were expecting their locked up funds in the company but did not find their names on the lists at the eight designated branches of GCB bank where the payments were scheduled to take place.

Explaining the situation to Citi Business News, the principal company inspector for the official liquidator, Jones Nathaniel Ansah, said auditing firm, PWC has only released 41,000 names out of the 93,000 names validated.

He assured that the PWC will release the remaining list very soon, even though he could not point to a specific date.

“What I’m saying is that PWC has validated about 93,000 and what we have released so far is 41,000 so more names will be coming out but as to when is what I can’t tell. What PWC told me is the lists will be coming as and when the payment goes on they will be releasing more lists out,’’ he stressed.

Calling for the need to exercise restraint, Mr. Ansah explained that the processes require time to complete; hence the customers must corporate to make it fruitful.

He assured that the official liquidator is doing all it can under the law to ensure that all creditors receive their funds.

Thousands of customers of DKM Microfinance Company lost their investments running into millions of cedis after the central bank in 2015 suspended the operations of DKM for violating the banking Act.

Though the central bank subsequently lifted the ban on the company’s operations, DKM was unable to pay its customers their locked up cash.

The Bank of Ghana confiscated the assets of the company and appointed the Registrar General’s Department to commence liquidation process to refund customers of the company.
