The planning committee of Ghana’s 60th Independence Anniversary Celebrations has asked Ghanaians to beware of fake of anniversary cloth on the market.
A statement issued by the Committee on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 said that the planning committee of the anniversary has not launched its anniversary cloth yet.
The approved cloth, according to the statement, is currently under a secured production at a “well-known local textile manufacturer.”
Hence, all purported anniversary cloths “currently on sale at the market and in shops are not approved and consequently fake.”
The statement is in reaction to reports indicating that cloths meant for the celebration of the country’s Diamond Jubilee are being sold in markets across the country.
The approved anniversary cloth, the statement said will be outdoored on Friday, February 24, 2017.
“Until then, anyone purchasing any supposed 60th anniversary Diamond Jubilee cloth, does so at his or her own risk,” the statement signed by chairman of the committee, Ken Amankwah said.
