Naaba Abdulai Mohammed, a brother of Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Collins Dauda – who recently shocked the entire nation by openly declaring that he kills people at will – has been declared wanted by the Goaso circuit court.

The court has therefore issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Naaba Abdulai following his failure to present himself in court on Thursday.

When the case of assault against him and two others was called, the accused was nowhere to be found, leading to the issuance of the arrest warrant.

His two alleged accomplices who were in the court are Stephen Amoako and Sadam.

The complainants in the case are New Patriotic Party (NPP) members who were purportedly assaulted by the suspects. They are Zakari Yakubu and Frank Osei Mensah of Nkaseim-Nkrankrom.

The incident occurred on November 26, 2016 when NPP members who were sent by their parliamentary candidate, Cecilia Amoah, to deliver some farm implements to a Kusaase group at Nkaseim-Nkrankrom were reported to have been physically assaulted and their belongings seized by the suspects.

Explaining why Naaba was absent, his counsel said he (Naaba) had since the elections on December 7 not reported at home from where he went, and that he was not properly served.

The writ, the lawyer said, was left in the hands of a girl in Naaba’s residence which to the lawyer was a violation, since the girl is only 16 years old.

Meanwhile, the two accomplices have pleaded not guilty to the charge of physical assault and stealing.

Their lawyer filed a bail application which was objected to by the prosecutor, P. K. Abochie, who explained that the accused persons have similar cases pending and had been difficult for the police service to serve them or effect arrest.

However, Naaba who appears to be in hiding, had started begging when the defeat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had dawned on him.

Begging

Naaba Abdulai, uncharacteristically sounding very humble, explained that he did not really mean his claim, “I kill people at will on a daily basis,” but he said it because of extreme anger during the heated electioneering period.

According to him, he is a decent, humble, loving and hardworking farmer; therefore he could not shed any human blood. He appealed to the president-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, whom he described as “father for al,l” to intervene in his case to prevent his “enemies” from manhandling him.

He passionately appealed to Nana Akufo-Addo and the entire people of Ghana to forgive him over his unguided utterances, stressing that he always extends a helping hand to his friends in the NPP at Techiman and Kumasi.

Killing Statement

Naaba Abdulai, a known NDC member, was so confident that President Mahama and the NDC would retain political power during the December 7 elections.

Displaying absolute power just like many in the NDC at the time, he went on air, bragging that he is a deadly person, who had continually attacked and killed his political opponents and gone scot free.

Beats Retreat

After the NDC had lost the elections to the NDC, Collins Dauda’s younger brother has quickly turned a new leaf, and stated on Hot FM – Accra-based radio station – that all his violent statements were empty threats.

Naaba, who had started a grand scheme to win public sympathy and support, explained that his weird utterances were sheer political talks, saying that he had not killed a person before.

Woos Nana

He said the elections are over and Nana Akufo-Addo has genuinely been elected as the president of Ghana, so he was expecting the populace to put his (Naaba’s) empty threats aside and concentrate on what can be done to help the NPP administration to succeed.

Virtually sounding like an ardent supporter of the president-elect, he showered praises on Nana Akufo-Addo, whom he described as wise, courageous, God-loving and father-for-all person, hoping that Nana Akufo-Addo would surely stop any attempts by NPP members to attack him.

He predicted that Nana Addo’s administration would be one of a kind in terms of efficiency and delivery.

‘Senior Brother’

Naaba Abdulai described Kennedy Agyapong – NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central – as a “senior brother,” disclosing that he had been praying fervently to God to ensure that the Assin Central MP is appointed a minister in the NPP government “so that I can go to him for job.”
